Baptism is the first of the Sacraments of initiation. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God. Baptism is celebrated in our tri-parish communities at the following times:
- St. John's in Vermillion during or after 10:00 a.m. Sunday Mass by request.
- St. Mary's in New Trier during or after 8:00 a.m. Sunday Mass by request.
- St. Mathias' in Hampton during or after 5:00 p.m. Saturday Mass by request.
There is a preparation process for parents who wish to have their child Baptized. To learn more about the preparation process, and/or to schedule Baptism for your child, please contact the parish office at 651-437-9030. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is above all the Sacrament of God's mercy. It is an opportunity for us to admit our wrong doing and seek forgiveness to repair our relationship with God and with those around us. Children typically receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time when they are in 2nd grade. Please see Faith Formation for more information or to register your child for classes. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered in the tri-parish communities at the following times:
- St. John's in Vermillion on Wednesdays at 8:00 a.m.
- St. Mary's in New Trier on the 1st Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m.
- St. Mathias' in Hampton on Saturdays at 4:15 p.m.
- NOTE: Due to COVID-19 reconciliation for the tri-parish community will be held Saturdays drive up at 9:00 a.m. St. Mathias in Hampton.
To help you prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has prepared a number of age appropriate examinations of conscience that may prove helpful and can be view by visiting: USCCB Examinations of Conscience.
The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic faith. Through the Eucharist we encounter the divine love of God through the Body and Blood of Christ. Preparation for First Eucharist typically takes place in 2nd grade. Please see Faith Formation for more information or to register your child for classes. If you are an adult looking to complete your initiation into the Catholic Church, please see RCIA. If you are homebound and wish to receive the Eucharist, please contact the parish office at 651-437-9030 and we will arrange for someone to visit you.
The Sacrament of Confirmation seals the recipient with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Reverence, and Wonder & Awe of the Lord. Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation typically takes place in 9th and 10th grade. Please see Faith Formation for more information or to register your teen for classes. The Sacrament of Marriage is a lifelong covenant made between a man and a woman, open to the creation of life and passing on of the Catholic faith to their children. There is a required preparation process for those who wish to receive the Sacrament of Marriage. For more information about the preparation process and/or to schedule a wedding date, please contact the Pastor.

Holy Orders is the Sacrament bestowed on men who have been called to priestly ministry after a period of discernment and formal education. Our pastor would be happy to speak with anyone discerning a vocation as a priest. Anointing of the Sick
The Anointing of the Sick, once thought to be reserved for the dying, is actually a Sacrament for those seeking healing and comfort, in whatever way God, in His wisdom chooses, to grant those things. If you are in the hospital or experiencing an extended illness and wish to receive the Anointing of the Sick please contact the parish office at 651-437-9030 to make arrangements for a priest to visit.
